Today I wanted to share with you some pictures of the shelf in my room now that it’s finally decorated. It goes through various incarnations with the seasons, and previously had displayed my teacup collection during the spring and summer months. However, I found this amazing moss-covered mushroom during a spring visit to Nashville, IN. Along with the mushroom, some birdhouses and smaller mushrooms insisted on coming home to live with me. And I make it a principle of life to never refuse a mushroom. My mother was the genius who prepared the base for my mossy-covered treasures. She wrapped styrofoam with moss sheets! Then it was a happy activity to put all the little mushrooms and houses up, entwined with a butterfly garland. The final touch was mini lights, which add a magical quality to the display and was quite worth the wait. I think any fairy would be delighted to live here surrounded by mossy goodness, mushrooms, butterflies, and lights.
In a few weeks, Pixie Hollow will be transformed into Spooky Hollow, full of pumpkins and owls and ravens. That will be wonderful too, but in the meantime I will enjoy my magical little shelf.
Blessings to you,
Sarah
