Today was a day for enjoying the fruits of summer.  I had bought some peaches at the farmers market this week and set them out to ripen.  I had one at dinner and it was superb.  Just as perfect a peach as one could ever ask for. It was bursting with flavor and juicy, sweet, but firm.  If you could make summer into a taste, this would be it.  I can’t wait till next week to get some more.  Produce always tastes better when it’s locally grown.

As an aside, I’m watching Julie and Julia while writing this post, and it’s rather strange to be blogging while watching a movie about blogging. 🙂  Maybe I’ll make peach cobbler with the peaches I hope to get next week as an ode to Julia.  It’s a toss up on whether peaches are more divine just as they are, or covered with pastry and ice cream!  Either way, they’re a gift straight from heaven.

Blessings to you,

Sarah
