October holds many events that I look forward to all year. One of the most wonderful is the day we get pumpkins for the front porch. Several years ago, my mom and I spied a pumpkin stand on the way to Nashville, IN when we had first moved here. Well, zip-a-dee-do-dah, I didn’t even know there were such things. Since then we’ve made a yearly migration down to Kelps to buy lots and lots of pumpkins. And they have tons of pumpkins. And not just the jack-o-lantern variety either. They have exotic offering I had never heard of before, and their very names make my skin prickle with anticipation…fairytale, cinderella, cheese pumpkin, peanut pumpkin, jardale…the list goes on. And lots of gourds and wee little pumpkins. It’s a pumpkin-lovers bliss. And now this year’s precious babies are all snuggled up against the house nestled in their hay bales and looking splendiforous!
Blessings to you,
