 I found this recipe on Pinterest (here’s the link) and it called to me… quite loudly.  It said “you must make me…now.”  And so I complied.  I pulled together the ingredients and gave it a whirl last night.  The recipe was quite easy to follow.  I used less butter – only about half what was called for (I revolt at using more than a stick of butter at a time) and it came out great.  I used the remaining Jonagold apples from my trip to the orchard a while back and supplemented it with a bit of honeycrisp apples.  Have you ever had honeycrisp apples?  They are marvelous – sweet and crisp (hence the name) and are great for snacking or baking.  I was very pleased with how the dessert came out.  And the bars tasted just like fall – rich and decadent and golden.  I hope you try them too.
