Oh, how I love brussel sprouts! I think they are my favorite vegetable. It’s quite a change from my childhood, in which I couldn’t stand them. I remember the first time I saw them growing on a stalk, not as tiny cabbages in a mesh bag in the produce section. My grandmother had found them at a local market and they were so beautiful. My grocery store brings them to us on the stalk too. They are just lovely!
My favorite way to prepare them is roasted with a bit of olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice. Oh my, I eat them like candy. They’re perfect fall/winter vegetable now that the evenings are cool and dark. Yum!
