Gift #213: Round Rock donuts

One of the most prized treats growing up was a donut from the Round Rock donut shop. This quaint city north of Austin has been cranking out donuts since 1926. They’ve been consistently rated as Texas’ best donut, which is no small feat. The donuts have a distinct yellow/orange color, which their website says is due to fresh eggs. Every donut is formed by hand, and on busy days, the bakery makes over 200 dozen a morning! Isn’t that incredible? The current owners have branched out to sell cookies, pies, and breakfast sandwiches. On our family visits to Austin, we typically pick up a dozen or two to share with everyone and to remind ourselves that some things are still as good as we remember.

Blessings to you,
Sarah
