Gift #217: Winter countryside

We are all back safe and sound from the two-week visit in Texas.  As we made our way home through Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and finally, Indiana, we saw lots of snow from the big snowstorm that made its way across the country right after Christmas.  The snow even extended to Tyler, Texas, where we were able to enjoy a white Christmas after all!  Who would have guessed such a thing!  Pretty much the whole way back to Indy, snow covered the trees along the highway and ice glistened on the surface of lakes and rivers.  It was absolutely beautiful and reminded me of Narnia in its 100 year winter.  Here are a few of the pictures I snapped as we passed by.

I wish all of you the Happiest of New Years and hope that 2013 is filled with blessings and joy.  Take time to enjoy the gifts of the past year and anticipate the ones to come.

Blessings to you,
