Gift #245: Winter visitor

Yesterday, whilst busy about my knitting, I heard a scratching at my window. It was not Poe’s raven, but a hungry raccoon temporarily awoken from her winter stupor. I guess the brief warm-up encouraged her to come outside for a bit of begging. There she was right up in the window, letting me know she was there and that she’d like some bread, please. I was delighted to see her -it had been several months since she’s come to visit. She stayed long enough to hear compliments about how well she is looking and to pose for a few pictures. She inquired generally about the family and such, then ate her bread and said goodnight. Goodnight, sweet friend. Sleep well.

Blessings to you,
Sarah
