Gift #350: Explore Colorado

Today was a most glorious, wonderful day.  For today I woke up, went to the airport, and found myself setting foot on Denver soil at 9am.  Oh happy, happy day to be back home in my beloved city.  My mom and I drove straight from the airport to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science – one of the most wonderful places on earth!  We spent the entire day there, wandering our favorite exhibits – the wildlife halls, natural history displays, and gems/minerals.  We even got to see an Imax movie about the building of the railroad through the Rockies.  My very favorite place in the museum is the  Explore Colorado exhibit, tucked away on the 3rd floor.  Inside the hall are dioramas for each of the biomes found in the state, along with signage that looks like it came from a naturalist’s notebook.  (there might be a separate post on the signage because it is so lovely.)  It was so wonderful to be back in a special place where I’ve spent so many happy hours.  Here are some pictures from the exhibit.
