Today we will celebrate mossy tree trunks. In shady glades with cool moist air, heavy with the scent of leaves, there you will find these marvels. Down on the forest floor, moss will cover anything with a carpet of emerald. I especially like tree trunks covered in moss because of the juxtaposition of textures – rough rigid bark covered with velvety soft moss. These pictures were taken at Eagle Creek park, which has miles and miles of forest trails and ample opportunity to hunt for moss. In the peak of summertime, all you can see is green; in fact the very air seems tinted green and shimmers with expectation. I anticipate finding gnomes everywhere I look.
Blessings to you,
Sarah
