Gift #563: Valentines

Happy Valentine’s Day to one and all.  This day brings back many happy memories of classroom Valentine’s parties – complete with cupcakes, red punch, and… valentines!  It was so exciting to bring our Valentine box to school that morning and then see them get filled up with cards from classmates..and maybe that special someone.  My mom had made me a beautiful repurposed shoe box covered in red floral fabric with lace trim.  We would spend a long time picking out just the right set of valentines to give to my classmates and I would sign them all carefully and seal the envelopes.  I kept my all my valentines for years and years.  I thought I’d capture some of the child-joy of the day by sharing some virtual valentines with you courtesy of pinterest.

This first one is Sherlock-inspired, and I couldn’t resist since it’s one of my favorite shows.  It makes me laugh.

I laughed until it hurt with this one.  It is sheer genius for those of you who love Lord of the Rings.  I think this wins my all-time favorite for movie-inspired valentines.

When I think of sweet things, Winnie the Pooh always comes to mind.  Everything he says is profound and melts my heart.  This quote was no exception, and I think it’s one of the most romantic things I’ve ever heard.

And finally… the most precious valentine of all.  This one comes direct from the Source of Love Himself.  And the message is that He loves us, completely, faithfully, and eternally.

And this, my friends, is something to celebrate on Valentine’s and every day after.

Blessings to you,
