Gift #582: Crafting plans

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!  I’m giddy with elation because my presentation is over and I don’t have to spend tonight studying it.  My dad and I went out for dinner and ice cream tonight to celebrate 🙂  It was a very nice time with him.  In celebration of being free I’m going to spend tonight knitting and hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to spend some time crafting.  I’ll show you a peak tonight of what’s on my workspace.  Quite some time ago I had bought a few little glass frames from a catalog.   They were the perfect size to match some beautiful ATC-sized papers from a collection.    (ATC size = 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″).  The collection is called Conservatory by 7 Gypsies.  I purchased several paper pads in a couple different sizes and also an ATC kit.  The kit includes precut papers in a variety of designs and some themed cutouts (birds, butterflies, eggs, labels, etc).  I plan to decorate some of the papers and put them in these glass frames since they’re a perfect size.

I displayed a selection of the cutouts on some papers too so you could see them as well.

After I took this photo, I realized I rather liked the way the images looked on the papers.  Hmm… I might use them just like this.  I’m looking forward to playing around with this project and hope to get them finished this weekend.  I think I might add some stamped images and maybe some feathers.  As a side note, when I wrote my last blog post, I had my personal laptop in my lap (I was using it to write my blog).  I had my work computer next to me (because I was working on my presentation) and I had my ipad in my hands (editing photos for the blog).   It was rather ludicrous.  As I noted the excessive use of electronic devices, words from Thoreau to the effect of “unplug and head for the woods” came to mind.  I couldn’t really agree more.  It’s warming up this weekend so maybe they’ll be an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.  At any rate, I’ll be unplugging from the computers and thinking some “nature thoughts” as I craft.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  See you tomorrow!

Blessings to you,

Sarah
