We’ve had rain for the last several days, so I’ve been contenting myself with looking at the pictures of spring that I’ve taken so far since walks are a bit out of the question right now. A few weekends ago I visited Altum’s Nursery, which is one of my favorites. They have beautiful plants, trees, and shrubs as well as lovely garden arrangements and an entire room devoted to succulents. Yay! One of the display tables featured several pieces made with reclaimed wood, plants, found objects, and little birdies.
I really liked the idea of turning recycled natural treasures into garden decorations – especially if moss and nests are involved.
This third arrangement is a little different – it uses a glass bowl instead of a slice of tree trunk, but it was very beautiful too. If you look carefully, there’s a sweet little egg nestled in the pedestal. And what about that ferns goodness?! So feathery and ethereal looking! I think it’s a plumosa fern. Does anyone know for sure? We had some a few summers ago, but I haven’t seen them for sale in a while. The minute I do though, they’ll be coming home to fill in planters.
Blessings to you,
