Happy New Years Day! We welcome a new year, full of thing that have never been (Rainer Maria Rilke). I hope that you found time to celebrate new beginnings today either by participating in family traditions or inventing some new ones. Regardless of whether you look ahead to the goals you want to achieve in this year, or you reflect on the year we’re leaving behind, we’re all standing at a threshold anticipating what the future may bring. As we prepare to enter 2015, I’d like to pray this benediction over us.
24 “‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
It’s a short post today because I’m a sleepy bear, having traveled many miles today and am eager to take a winter nap curled up under the blankets. I will join with you in celebrating the new year again tomorrow. Until then, I hope your new year is filled with ordinary miracles.
Blessings to you,
