Gift #845: Father’s Day

Walk hand in hand with me through all eternity
Have faith, believe in me, give me your hand
Love is a symphony of perfect harmony
When family such as we walk hand in hand

Be not afraid, for I am with you all the while
So lift your head up high and look toward the sky

Walk hand in hand with me, this is our destiny
No greater love could be, walk hand in hand
Walk with me

Be not afraid, for I am with you all the while
So lift your head up high and look up to the sky

Walk hand in hand with me, this is our destiny
No greater love could be, walk hand in hand
Walk with me

FD2Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, father-figures that have walked alongside us.  I’m very thankful for my own father who provided a sense of security and love during my childhood.  As I grew older, I appreciate his wisdom and care for our family even more.  It’s exciting to see my brother follow in his example as a new father.  I’m grateful to have had men in my life who made it easy to relate to God as my heavenly Father.  I know that not everyone gets the privilege of having a loving father-presence in their lives and I think that breaks the heart of God, who pictures Himself so often as our tender, affectionate Father.  It’s He who promises to hold our hands through life, walking with us, giving purpose to our days.  Held in His arms, there is no need to be afraid for there is no greater love than His.  We live in confidence and grace with His song in our hearts.

Blessings to you,

Sarah
