Last night I was able to attend “Music of the Night” which is a Halloween organ concert hosted by Crown Hill Cemetery. My mom and I have attended nearly every year we have lived in Indy and it’s one of my favorite events of the year. This time we were blessed with very fine weather – it was unseasonably warm and quite pleasant for the walking tour of the cemetery that occurs after the concert. My mom and I usually go up in the early afternoon and enjoy the grounds before the concert. The fall colors were the prettiest for this time of the year that we’d ever seen. Usually most of the leaves have dropped, but it seemed like yesterday the trees were in full glory.
Here’s the Gothic Chapel, where the concert is held. It’s a lovely building, dating from the 1870s. Below if a view of the Chapel from behind. I like this view because the Chapel is partially hidden by the hill and trees.
It was a highlight of the year to spend a beautiful fall day outside, enjoying a special place and the beauty of autumn.
Blessings to you,
Sarah
